Sunwheel’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
Generally, a property owner gets power from the utility company. The Power Purchase Agreement allows you to get most or all of your power from a clean, renewable generator like Sunwheel, rather than “dirty” power from the utility company.
Who Does What. Sunwheel designs and installs a customized solar energy system (solar panels, inverters, etc.) for you, the property owner. The property owner agrees to purchase the energy produced by the system at a pre-determined rate. Sunwheel’s energy rates will offer major savings over standard utility pricing.
How It Works. Sunwheel owns all the solar equipment; you give us access to your rooftops, carports, etc. Sunwheel finances the equipment and installation, and takes care of maintenance and repair. The only thing you pay for is the energy produced by the system. You will still have your relationship with the utility, but now you will be using much less “dirty power” because the solar energy system will be generating cleaner -- and cheaper – power.
Spinning the Meter Backward. In most states, when your solar energy system generates more power than you use, say during peak daylight hours, your meter literally spins backwards, and you get credited for the energy you send back to the grid. This concept of crediting your account for the energy you produce but don’t immediately use is called net metering. The rules vary by state and/or utility service area.
Purchase Option. If you should decide you later want to purchase the system, Sunwheel will provide one or more purchase options for you during the life of the PPA.
It’s that simple. Start producing your own green power and saving money today!
