William Carson, VP/Operations Strategy & Director of Sustainability, McCormack Baron Salazar
Mr. Carson (LEED-AP) focuses on business development for Sunwheel (an affiliate of McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS)), and serves as MBS’s Vice President/Operations Strategy & Director of Sustainability. In that role, he is centrally involved in developing Green and environmentally sustainable neighborhoods and has championed USGBC LEED for Neighborhood Development applications including the largest LEED-ND pilot project completed to-date (Renaissance Place, St. Louis-Certified), and the 2nd LEED-ND site in Tennessee (University Place, Memphis-Awaiting Certification). In 2009, he outlined MBS’s strategy for HUD’s Green Communities Grants, resulting in $56 million awards for new green construction. He also led a multi-company team through final Certification of the Midwest’s only LEED Platinum School (Crossroads College Prep, St. Louis).
Before joining MBS, Mr. Carson was incorporating Executive Director of the Vashon Education Compact—a partnership between the St. Louis Public Schools, MBS, and forty philanthropic & corporate entities. He began his career in a range of engineering, business development, and product management roles with Fortune 300 manufacturer Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. He is a mechanical engineering graduate of Cornell University and holds master’s degrees in Engineering & Policy and Engineering Management from Washington University. He serves several St. Louis nonprofit boards including Center of Creative Arts, College Summit, and Partnership for Downtown St. Louis, and is a member of USGBC-St. Louis Chapter.Lana Feix, Office Manager
Ms. Feix serves as Office Manager for Sunwheel Energy Partners, where she manages the day-to-day administration of the office, provides project and accounting support, and interfaces with vendors and customers. She has 13 years experience as a customer service manager, office manager and data analyst for companies and clients such as AT&T, Chrysler Financial , Callaway Golf and Victorinox Swiss Army.
Ms. Feix began her career in the U.S. Army as a Petroleum Specialist. After leaving military, she worked as a Machinist Manager for Budnick Converting. In 2001 she went to Convergys Corp where she served as Trainer and Customer Service Manager. Her last role prior to Sunwheel, was as Office Manager of TRG Group Distribution Center in St. Louis.Daniela Greville, Senior Manager-Project Finance
Ms. Greville is Senior Manager of Project Finance for Sunwheel Energy Partners. In that capacity, Ms. Greville helps manage the financial and project management components of Sunwheel Energy Partners’ solar transactions, including capital financing, electricity pricing, and project implementation.
Prior to Sunwheel, Ms. Greville was the Business Development Director for Clean Source Power, where she worked on business outreach as well as strategic and financial aspects of the company. Before entering the field of Solar Photovoltaics, Ms. Greville spent a number of years in affordable housing and real estate finance. She started that work with Aegon USA Realty Advisors, where she evaluated and underwrote LIHTC investments. Later she worked for MacFarlane Partners, where she focused on market rate housing and land investments. Ms. Greville holds a B.A. from Tufts University, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Daniel Magni, Vice President-Engineering
Mr. Magni is vice president of engineering for Sunwheel Energy Partners. Mr. Magni has 26 years of international experience in a broad range of operations and engineering management in electronics manufacturing, product development, and construction projects. He has been involved in renewable and alternative energy industries for over 13 years, holding senior management positions at Global Solar, Schott Solar, Nexgen Energy Systems and CleanSource Power.
Mike Steinbaum, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Steinbaum is chief operating officer for Sunwheel Energy Partners. He brings a variety of skills to this role, including operations, strategic planning and legal experience. Previously, Mr. Steinbaum was COO and co-founder of Meaningful Machines, a natural language technology firm. His role included managing all aspects of company operations, raising capital and supporting patent applications. Mr. Steinbaum also provided executive support, and served as acting COO, for portfolio companies at Apple Core Holdings, an investment firm and the primary investor in Meaningful Machines. In previous positions, Mr. Steinbaum worked at Cambridge Technology Partners, where he was the COO and co-founder of the Cambridge Information Network, an online service for IT professionals that was sold to EarthWeb. He also provided strategic and management consulting services for Cambridge clients implementing Internet and e-commerce strategies, with an emphasis on electronic communities. He began his career as a corporate attorney for Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Palo Alto, California, where his experience included venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, public securities offerings and contract negotiations. Mr. Steinbaum is a graduate of Stanford University (Phi Beta Kappa) and Duke University School of Law.
Laurel Tinsley, Vice President
Ms. Tinsley is vice president of finance for Sunwheel Energy Partners. In this role, Ms. Tinsley brings together the various sources necessary to finance renewable energy projects and develops the legal and financial structures that meet the requirements of each of the tax credit and incentive programs used in the finance package. In addition, Ms. Tinsley continues to work on projects after the inception phase through the closing process and remains involved during the installation and operational phases providing financial, legal, and compliance guidance, as needed.
Ms. Tinsley is also the vice president of finance for McCormack Baron Salazar and director of New Markets. In these roles, Ms. Tinsley focuses on the firm’s New Markets and solar tax credit development and investment projects. She also works on projects involving a broad spectrum of other development incentives and tax credits. Ms. Tinsley brings to this role a mixture of investment, strategic and legal experience. Ms. Tinsley is experienced in managing complex real estate and tax credit transactions from concept to completion. Before joining Sunwheel and McCormack Baron, Ms. Tinsley was a partner at a well-respected St. Louis law firm and has over ten years of legal experience handling complex real estate, tax credit and tax transactions. Ms. Tinsley earned a JD and an LLM (masters in tax law) from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
